I was just about to create a The The tribe. Thank you so much for beating me to the punch.
I'm having yet another day when he's saving my life.

Re: thank god
Thu, April 15, 2004 - 7:54 PMi didn't start listening to the the really until about 1990. and then, the flood gates opened. yes, matt johnson and the the saved my life a few times over. in 1995, i was working at a store in NYC called antique boutique. it used to be well known for vintage clothes. i brought mind bomb into work that day. it was one of those days i really needed it. i was standing on tables, running around singing, getting a lot of energy out. then, about an hour after the cd changed, who should come in to find a silver-sequened blazer? yeah, it was matt. i wanted to say thanks more than anything else, but i just didn't. i was his clever silly sales girl. and enjoyed that experience for the 20 minutes he was there. i didn't feel like 'bothering' him and the intensity of my relationship with his music made the veil hard to penetrate. but i was 22. -

Thu, April 15, 2004 - 8:31 PMi've been to antique boutique! i remember it was by nyu but i can't remember where now. and i was living in nyc in 1995. i worked at a shop in soho for a while, and i totally understand. people would come in to the shop all the time that you would recognize, but you could never break form and act like they were anything other than normal people. -

Sat, May 22, 2004 - 6:00 PMYes! A The The tribe!
I tend to agree with Chinchilla...Matt's music seems to always pick me up on those days when I really need it, much like Morrissey used to when I was growing up.
